Leadership Course Work for Women Faculty in East Baltimore
Across East Baltimore, wherever groups of faculty women are gathered together, there is certain to be interesting conversation on topics that are meaningful to the work in which they are involved. This spring, the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the School of Medicine, and School of Nursing are collaborating with The Johns Hopkins University Center for Training and Education to provide leadership development course work for faculty women on issues that women leaders have in common.
We are offering two courses related to influencing strategies that women can use to become more strategic in their interactions with their bosses and colleagues:
Because their decision-making and risk-taking styles are frequently complicated by their roles as caregivers, partners/spouses and facilitators, two courses relate to the issues women face as decision-makers and risk-takers:
Finally, faculty frequently have never played a supervisory role before they are thrust into that role as senior leaders with supervisory responsibilities. The basics of supervision are taught in:
These courses will be offered at convenient locations in East Baltimore, in short time frames (three and a half hour blocks), and they are NOT sequential (you can take as many as time allows). Because they are funded with benefits dollars, all the regular Center for Training and Education policies must apply, so we ask that you commit to arriving on time and staying for the full length of the session. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. We're hoping that the group will become a cohort and stay together for the entire series, but that is not required. If you only have the time to do one session, that's okay, too!
Please join us in this first effort to prepare Hopkins women faculty to move into more senior leadership roles.
To register, please fill out the Registration Form and fax it to the number listed on the form.
